By Tiffany Wakim:
The trip to St. Louis for the Maronite Catholic Christian retreat helped me restore my faith in God. Not only did it strengthen me spiritually but it enabled me to understand that I can look forward to the future because God has good plans for us all. The theme this year was ?do not be afraid? and after all was said and done, I can confidently say that I will not be afraid anymore. I learned how to cast all my fears aside and trust the Holy Spirit to guide me, protect me, and lead me unto whatever path He desires. I know now that I should not fear, for God is with me at all times and if I am willing to sacrifice it all for God, then he is willing to put all His faith and trust in me in return. It was my first year going to this retreat and I am happy to say that after going once, I look forward to the future of many others. I knew before that God has faith in every individual, but what I understand now is that we lack faith in God. This retreat is a spirit building, character shaping, and unbelievable faith-restoring experience to say the least. I am lucky to say that I was able to share it with the fellow neighbors of the Our Lady of Lebanon church community. Special thanks to Msgr. Alfred Badawi, Sub-Deacon John Sfire, Mrs. Bobbi Sfire, Mrs. Georgette Boumitri and Mr. Joe Naddaf.
